My first tumblog…
I’ve developed websites for many individuals, small businesses, and corporations during the past 10 years. I’ve had my share of experiences in working with content management systems like Wordpress, Drupal, ExpressionEngine, Modx CMS, and many other commercial offerings.
Just recently, I decided to start a personal blog to share photos, news, and information with my friends, family, and colleagues. Then the question comes to mind, what software package should I use to manage this blog? The blog has to look nice, cheap, custom domain name, be easy to manage, and supports mobile viewing.
I could put together a blog using Wordpress or other popular blogging systems. They are all very similar in features, but what makes Tumblr stand out from Wordpress, SquareSpace, and other blogging products is PRICE and FLEXIBILITY.
With Tumblr, I can post photos, links, audio clips, videos, and web pages easily. I can also post it using my iPhone or iPad using their mobile app. Setting up this new blog took me less than 10 minutes. If you don’t have a personal website/blog and always wanted to put one together, then why wait? It’s completely FREE!
